Population control? Part 2: an attempt to answer the question(s)
In my humble opinion, the world is all about cause and effect. What we do will lead to some kind of reaction. I think my physical geography professor may have been onto something when he said that global warming will not manifest itself in an overall temperature rise, but rather in more extreme weather and an overall change in the earths weather systems.
The ice age is coming to an end and there is no telling where we are headed.
It is true that the earths weather patterns change over time. We went from the tropical world of Pangaea to thousands of years of ice age. The ice age has largely ended, but not completely. We still have polar ice caps, but for how long? An ever increasing population is only compounding the greenhouse effect.
Economically, if the world`s population contiues to grow at it`s current rate, even the most advanced coutries will be living at the current economic standards of Mexico within the next 60 years or so. George Bush is compounding this problem by ending safe sex programs and replacing them with Christian-based ones. This will not work in America, and certainly will not work in the African nations.
In conclusion, if you read the bible, not one of us is innocent. We are victims of the original sin. Everything that ever happened is God`s will since he/she/it is omniscient. One huge paradox in the Christian faith is reckoning our ability to act freely with God`s omniscience. If God already knows everything that is going to happen, how are we free to act at all? It seems kind of like trying to fool a mirror.
I hope that this cracks open the box.
