Flip Flop and Turn Hoes Like Flap Jacks

John Kerry is a "flip flopper" and so are many other opponents to the republican right. So what?! I personally don't see the problem with someone who makes the best decision they can with the information given - and then changes their mind when better or more accurate information is evident. To me that shows a sign of intelligence and growth...or dare I say progress. Unfortunately it seems like the hard right is only concerned with the progress of industry and lining their pockets with as much money as they can before their time is up. I only hope that the American public is tired of The 80's Strikes Back and decides to move forward.

Population control?

I've been thinking a little about all of the natural disasters that we've had this year. The Tsunami, the hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. and the magnitude of them. It's terrible that so many people have suffered and died (and still are) and I got to thinking about why this is happening.

With wild animals, say deer, if the population gets to large for its own good, the DNR will increase hunting limits or have a second dear hunting season. This is to help protect the deer, the environment, and us. So in order to benefit everyone as a whole, some deer must die.

You can probably see where I'm going with this, and it isn't pretty. What if the human population is too large for our own good? I mean how much can populations, economies, business, prices, stock markets, etc. really keep increasing? Are these natural disasters a means for the Earth to control population? If so, do war, crime, and disease serve the same purpose?

A religious person could say that it is God's will and be done with it. But why would God destroy so many of his innocent children? And why would he intervene for this purpose and not others? I have a hard time accepting the God's will argument obviously. Maybe it really is God's will and all of the religions got it wrong by a little...or a lot. Honestly, I have no clue. I was just thinking a bit outside of that box everyone talks about. Unfortunately, I don't know what's in it either.
